Services

Communication assessment and individual therapy

Assessment and therapy are neuroaffirming, person-centred and tailored to the person’s goals, communication profile and everyday environments. Support may address speech clarity, language, social communication, functional communication, self-advocacy and communicating in education, work, relationships or the community.

Complex communication and AAC

Georgia has experience assessing and supporting people who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), including communication technology. Recommendations respect each person’s preferred ways of communicating and focus on access, autonomy and practical communication across home, education, work and community settings.

Communication and participation support

Therapy International supports people aged over 5 whose communication differences affect confidence, relationships, learning, independence or participation. This may include people with disability, acquired communication needs, multiple diagnoses or complex communication needs. Support is strengths-based, neuroaffirming and individualised rather than focused on making a person appear or communicate in a more typical way.

Consultation and communication-partner support

Consultation and capacity-building may be available for families, carers, educators, employers and support teams. Guidance focuses on understanding and accommodating communication differences, creating more accessible interactions and supporting the person’s own goals.
